On August 12, 2022 Apple editors featured Roterra 3 - A Sovereign Twist in New Games We Love Story. Our team at DiG-iT! Games® could not be more proud to be featured once again for one of our Roterra titles. The featured was on the Today tab of the app store in over 55 countries across the globe and will continue for the week on the games tab.
Other games featured in the weekly selection included that's a cow, Wings of Glory, Archaica: The Path of Light, Rocket Bot Royale, Treasure Temples and a few more. As an indie developer we applaud Apple for continuing to feature games from large and small studios that provide important visibility in the crowded App Store catalog for new releases.
Roterra Adds Pinch and Zoom Camera
During the development of Roterra 3 our game studio decided it was time to revamp our overall camera system. At that time, the primary objective was to provide our puzzle designers improved options for displaying puzzle areas to our players. Version 2 of the Roterra camera system was created and achieved our overall objectives for our internal design needs. After the new system was approved for Roterra 3, we realized it provided the potential to include new features that players had wanted - primarily to have more control over the camera. The first improvement was the birds-eye camera version released with version 1.0. This allowed players to look all around the puzzle levels like never before, however this feature was in view mode only.
We are now pleased to announce that we have been able to deliver the long sought after pinch and zoom camera feature. In version 1.1+ players can now use this common pinch and zoom gesture to zoom in and out on puzzle areas. The camera provides just enough field of view range to give players that wide angle view or zoom in for a closer look. A zoom icon will appear in the lower right hand corner of the screen when you are manually adjusting the camera angle. Players can simply click the icon to return to the designers camera view. Unlike the birds-eye camera this can be used in play mode. We hope you enjoy this exciting new feature.
